Central Battery Systems

We can supply a wide range of AC/DC and AC/AC central systems all of which are designed to meet the specific requirements of their application.

In general terms the our range can be described as follows, (see the specific catalogue entries for full details):
Low power AC/DC systems 12 & 24V employing 6Ah to 65Ah 5 or 10 year design life batteries (BS 6745). NM & M outputs, 1,2 or 3 hours duration.
Medium/High power AC/DC systems 24, 50 & 110V DC output, employing 30Ah to 150Ah 10-25 year design life batteries, NM & M outputs, 1,2 or 3 hours duration.
Low power AC/AC Static inverter systems 150VA to 750VA, single phase, square wave, passive operation, inverters with intelligent digital Datlog™ monitoring.
Medium power AC/AC Static inverter systems 1KVA to 6KVA single/three phase input/single phase output, passive operation with intelligent digital Datlog™ monitoring.
High power AC/AC Static inverter systems 2.4KVA to 200KVA single and three phase input/output, active off-line, sine wave inverters.
DC Digital Self-Test Adapter Unit
The new Digital Self-Test Adapter, DST is a unique, fully automatic, independent, self-testing module that meets the current requirements of the draft International Standard for automatic testing devices, pr. IEC62034 and unlike many is suitable for incorporation into virtually any nickel cadmium or nickel metal hydride powered, self contained emergency lighting luminaire and is suitable for operation with any lamp, including T5 lamps.

DST is flexible
The DST is flexible and can be specified to be included in virtually all of the self contained luminaires available, including all conversion kits and is ideally suited to retrofitting even when non-DC Emergency Systems conversion units have been installed.

DST is thorough
The DST is thorough and carries out the monthly, six monthly and yearly test regime contained within BS 5266 without need for manual intervention. When the unit detects a fault condition it provides both a visual and an audible alarm indication (if not required, the audible alarm can be simply disabled when the DST is commissioned).

DST is reliable
DST is reliable and even when it detects a failure in its associated luminaire for duration or light output discrepancies, it will still allow the luminaire to operate to the best of its ability in its emergency mode. Additionally, the DST has a non-volatile memory so if the power fails the clock is suspended but the test sequence remains unaltered. When the mains power is restored they simply carry on from the point at which power failed.

DST is intelligent
On initial power up the DST's intelligence allows it to enter a battery pre-conditioning mode to ensure the batteries are in a suitable condition to supply sufficient power for emergency operation. Manual testing, initiation and clock resetting are carried out via a single discrete push button.
Pals Addresable Test System
Much more than an addressable test system, PALS uses analogue technology to provide detailed emergency luminaire status to a central control point. PALS carries out the test regime with which you choose to program it, then when a fault is identified it will tell the user not only where the fault is but even the nature of the fault.

Simple to program, easy to control and understand, the PALS panel features an on-board keypad and a prompted menu system so that once installed any changes or maintenance can be carried out by the persons you choose to authorise by way of engineering pass codes. You are not tied to the supplier for maintenance or system changes thus reducing the system's lifetime costs.

PALS is suitable for use with self-contained or central battery and slave luminaire systems.
